Federal air marshals are federal law enforcement officers that work for the Transportation Security Administration. Their primary responsibility is protecting air passengers and crew. They fly on domestic and international flights in a plainclothes role. The federal air marshal hiring process consists of a written application, panel interview, psychological assessment, medical examination, physical training assessment, and complete background investigation.
